editas
named after the owners’ grandmother, editas in carlton brings a personal connection to a fish and chip shop with samoan and tongan influences. our interior, brand identity and signage design draws on the atmosphere of an island getaway, translated through colour, texture and sculptural details.
ocean blue contrasts with sand-toned rendered walls, terrazzo counters and pale timber. an undulating timber batten ceiling and suspended organic lights bring movement overhead, while a large octopus mural extends across the dining room. red seating introduces a lively contrast to the otherwise light, beach-inspired palette.
kitchen planning and the arrangement of service and seating areas make considered use of the compact footprint. polished concrete floors, timber tables and a living green wall balance practicality with warmth, while daylight through the glazed passage keeps the interior open and airy.
