objects discovered, interiors considered
this july 2021 archive was originally a preview of the agha melbourne gift fair. the event details have been retired, while three of the original exhibitor references remain as a starting point for thinking about art, furniture and objects.
viewing a piece in person can reveal scale, texture and finish that are difficult to judge online. those observations inform our furniture selection and interior styling work in melbourne.
from discovery to selection
a broad product collection is useful for exploration, but the final choice belongs to a particular room. compare dimensions, samples and practical requirements with the existing palette before treating an interesting object as the right one.
the following brands were references in the original 2021 preview. current ranges and availability should be confirmed with the suppliers.
urban road
urban road was included for its art-print offering. when considering a print, review scale, framing, colour and its relationship with neighbouring furniture. our art selection work also includes collaboration with artists on commissioned pieces.
dwbh
dwbh’s dahlia furniture was noted for its carved floral detail. expressive carving can give a piece its identity; quieter materials around it may allow that detail to be understood more clearly.
asian tide
asian tide was included for its distinctive furniture and antiques references. a piece with visible age or craftsmanship can bring another layer to a contemporary interior, provided its scale, condition and use suit the setting.
considered selection connects those individual qualities into a personal whole, rather than reproducing a catalogue or a single style.
